Hello Fellow Half-Bloods (and everyone else out there reading this),
As you may or may not know, this is my first blog entry on behalf of Camp Half- Blood. Our Camp Activities Director here, Chiron, has asked me to blog once a week on all the happenings and goings on here at Camp Half- Blood over the course of this summer. Chiron asked me to do this because I have been attending this camp since I ran away from home when I was a little girl (long story) and so I am definitely considered a "veteran" member here at camp. He also knew that since I am a daughter of Athena (which means that I am studious and on top of things) that this blog would always get finished.
Anyway, I thought that my first blog entry should include a little bit about myself and the other campers at CHB. As I have already told you, I am a daughter of Athena, so i live in Cabin 6. The cabins are numbered in regards to the gods and goddesses of Olympus:
Cabin 1 is Zeus
Cabin 2 is Hera
Cabin 3 is Poseidon
Cabin 4 is Demeter
Cabin 5 is Ares
Cabin 6 is Athena (me)
Cabin 7 is Apollo
Cabin 8 is Artemis
Cabin 9 is Hephaestus
Cabin 10 is Aphrodite
Cabin 11 is Hermes
Cabin 12 is Dionysis
We also have some cabins for some of the minor gods and goddesses with children in our camp:
Cabin 13 is Hades
Cabin 14 is Iris
Cabin 15 is Hypnos
Cabin 16 is Nemesis
Cabin 17 is Nike
Cabin 18 is Hebe
Cabin 19 is Tyche
Cabin 20 is Hecate

With so many cabins here you would think that we would have a ton of campers, right? Well, in reality, some of the cabins (like Hera, Artemis, Nemesis, Nike, Hebe and Tyche) are completely empty and some only have one or two campers living in them (like Zeus, Poseidon, Demeter, Dionysis, Hades, Iris, Hypnos and Hecate). The truth is that we could use more campers here at CHB!
We get to do a lot of really fun things here, along with some awesome classes that help us refine our fighting and problem solving skills. We have bonfires, chariot races and capture the flag! Although we are demigods, we still like to have a good time, and we get to do a lot of that at CHB.
My favorite thing about CHB is the friends that I have made over the years. My friends here are much more understanding and friendly than any of the other people I have ever met and that is because we are all alike. Even though we have different parents, are different genders, races, have different skills and hobbies, we are all able to understand one another because we are all in the same situation. We all have a god for a parent... I mean, who other than another demigod is going to be able to understand that?!
Anyway, I don't know if I'm really doing exactly what Chiron asked me to do (this is my first entry, give me a break!), but I wanted everyone that is reading this to know that CHB is the best place on earth for a demigod. This camp is the only place that I have felt welcomed and safe in a very long time. I love it here and to any of you demigods out there who are reading this and need a place to feel safe and welcomed, please, come to Camp Half-Blood, we would love to have you!
I'll talk to you all next week!

Endnote: Genre Five
We decided to do a blog entry to show the way that Annabeth feels about Camp Half-Blood. Camp Half-Blood is like a second home to all of the campers there, especially for Annabeth because she ran away from home when she was very young. It makes sense that Chiron would ask someone to write a blog about all the perks of Camp Half-Blood because they don't have a ton of campers and a blog would be able to reach demigods all over the world. Camp Half-Blood is a protected place for demigods to be safe from monsters, that is why the campers love it so much. It is a place where they can finally act like teenagers and not have to watch their backs every second of the day. A blog is an easy way for Chiron and Annabeth to get the word out on Camp Half-Blood and all of its activities, campers and overall fun!
